Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of axinite-(Mn), also known asmanganaxinite, from Franklin!!! This specimen consists of a group of intergrown blades of
lustrous, intense orange manganaxinite in association with a small amount of andradite!!! The crystals consist of fine, glassy, gemmy
blades!!! Interestingly, only some of the blades show an intense orange-red fluorescence under SW UV which gives it a rather unique
appearance in person!!! It almost appears like a glowing-hot electric filament!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope there
are some minute pale tan, bladed crystals present as well (they flouresce blue under SW UV)!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We recently
acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL
collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming
days and weeks!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
