Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this rare species from Franklin!!! This specimen consists of rich showing of very dark
green manganosite in association with dark red zincite, reddish leucophoenicite, and black jacobsite!!! This specimen
hosts a significant amount of manganosite and exhibits several well crystallized areas as well!!! There are numerous
significant areas of lustrous, dark green manganosite visible all over the specimen and there is a large area that shows
pronounced triangular/octahedral form that is actually a very well formed manganosite crystal with a thin coating of jacobsite and
zincite (in person, this form is much more pronounced and obvious)!!! There is a significant mass of richly colored
reddish leucophoenicite present as well!!! The leucophoenicite exhibits some marked translucence as well!!!
Simply a fantastic example of this rare and sought after species from Franklin!!!
This specimen retains an old Forest Cureton label as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
