Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare example of margarosanite from Franklin!!! This old time Franklin specimen consists of a significant showing of
margarosanite with hyalophane in association with some willemite, hendricksite, and other related species!!! This specimen
retains an antique Ward's label that labels it as "Margarosanite with Hyalophane and Native Lead" however, upon
careful examination under the scope, I cannot see any signficant areas of native lead - however there are micrograins of what appear to
be native copper!!! The specimen shows a lot of great blue fluorescence throughout, however in person one can see that there are also
numerous tiny grains of very intense blue-white fluorescence scattered about, as well as scattered superficial grains of pale reddish and
peach fluorescence that are difficult to capture in the pics!!! There is a LOT more going on than the pics show!!! In person one
can see several areas of oriented, lustrous faces (cleavage planes?) around the specimen and all kinds of other features!!!
This specimen retains an old Ward's label as well!!! Rare old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 24th!!!
