Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of this rare and highly sought after species from Langban!!! This specimen hosts a broad face that is
coated with a layer of margarosanite on a matrix of dark brown andradite in association with an unusual, unidentified species consisting of
fibrous-looking translucent white crystals!!! The margarosanite is present as minute, scaly crystals and microcrystalline crusts that
fluoresce bluish under SW UV!!! The unidentified species consists of translucent, somewhat fibrous lathes of intergrown crystals!!! These
unknown crystals exhibit a perimeter of orange fluorescence under SW UV (possibly caused by an additional unknown species)!!!
Upon close inspection it appears that there may be other unidentified species present as well!!! This specimen
retains an old personal collection label from Howard Belsky as well as an old label from Percy A. Foster, M. D. (1889-1968) as well!!! Rare, old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 19th!!!
