Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of this rare species from Broken Hill!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of crystalline marshite!!!
The marshite crystals owe their lively red color to rich inclusions of bright red chalcotrichite!!! The marshite is very well
crystallized, consisting of a dense network of lustrous, translucent red crystals that range in size to approximately 1mm!!!
Although the crystals are quite complex, upon close inspection, one can see triangular faces as well as overall pyramidal
habits!!! The pics don't come close to doing it justice!!! This is rare, older material from Broken Hill!!! Of course the
crystals exhibit red fluorescence under SW UV as well!!! This specimen was part of a larger single specimen that
originally came through the South Australia Museum via Forrest Cureton!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY FEBRUARY 10th!!!
**We have just returned from the annual Gem & Mineral Show in Tucson, Arizona!!! Be sure to stay tuned as we will be listing our exciting acquisitions throughout the next coming weeks!!!***
