Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare example of marshite after cuprite from Russia!!! This specimen consists of a single octahedral
crystal that has been completely replaced by marshite!!! This specimen was the largest such example of this rare pseudomorph we have seen!!!
This specimen still retains the well-defined octahedral habit of the original
cuprite crystal and one can see that there is some minute residual cuprite var.
chalcotrichite in its core, which gives it a slightly reddish hue!!! It is my
understanding that these unusual pseudomorphs came from one small area of the find and no more have been seen since!!!
Very unusual rare material indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
