A fantastic example of this rare species from Russia!!! This locality has produced some of the most exceptional examples
of this rare species that easily rival or exceed the classic finds from Chile or Broken Hill!!! While the cuprite specimens
from this locality have been somewhat prolific, there were just a scant handful of these incredible marshite crystals found
in one small area of the mine!!! What makes this specimen so great is that, not only is it a fine marshite specimen, it is
actually a marshite crystal pseudomorph after cuprite!!! The specimen exhibits an overall octahedral form and still hosts a
small amount of reddish cuprite within!!! These unusual rare pseudomorphs are all highly distorted, however in person the octahedral form is
still quite apparent!!! What makes this specimen all the more unique is that it is perched on a small amount of crystalline
cerussite!!! The cerussite is intergrown with additional marshite and, upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can even
see some characteristic twinning of the cerussite!!!
These rare pseudomorphs represent truly fantastic examples of the species!!! These specimens are already all gone, and this is the
last one I have - don't miss out!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
