Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this rare species from Broken Hill!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of tiny, bright red crystals of
marshite on matrix!!! The marshite crystals owe their lively red color to rich inclusions of bright red
chalcotrichite!!! The marshite is very well crystallized, consisting of a dense network of submillimeter, lustrous,
translucent red crystal!!! Although the crystals are quite complex,
upon close inspection, one can see triangular faces as well as overall pyramidal habits!!! The bottom portion of the matrix
actually hosts some minor cuprite and some minute areas of native copper visible on edge as well!!! The pics don't
come close to doing it justice!!! This is rare, older material from Broken Hill!!! Of course the crystals
exhibit red fluorescence under SW UV as well!!! This specimen was part of a larger single specimen that
originally came through the South Australia Museum via Forrest Cureton!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
