Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific example of this rare species from Broken Hill!!! This specimen consists of an unusual, tube-like matrix that hosts groups of
tiny marshite crystals in association with scattered areas of cuprite var. chalcotrichite!!!
The marshite crystals owe their lively red color to rich inclusions of bright
red chalcotrichite!!! Upon close inspection, the marshite is very well crystallized upon, consisting of a dense network of submillimeter,
lustrous, translucent red crystal!!! Although the crystals are quite complex, upon close inspection, one can
see triangular faces as well as overall pyramidal habits!!! The pics don't come
close to doing it justice!!! This is rare, older material from Broken Hill!!! Of course the crystals exhibit
red fluorescence under SW UV as well!!! This specimen was part of a larger single specimen that originally
came through the South Australia Museum via Forrest Cureton!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
