Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare example of marshite after cuprite from Russia!!! This specimen consists of a highly complex, octahedral cuprite crystal
that has been completely replaced by marshite!!! This specimen still retains the overall octahedral habit of
the original cuprite crystal and one can see that there is some minute residual cuprite var. chalcotrichite in its
core, which gives it a slightly reddish hue!!! It is my understanding that these unusual pseudomorphs came from one
small area of the deposit and no more have been seen since!!! This is a particularly large specimen for the occurence and
is much better than the pics show!!! These specimens are extraordinary examples of the species and are a very significant
find indeed!!! Very unusual rare material - don't miss out!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
