Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of this rare species from Broken Hill!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of crystalline marshite on a
thin portion of matrix in association with a small amount of cuprite and native copper!!! The marshite crystals owe their lively red
color to rich inclusions of bright red chalcotrichite!!! The marshite is very well crystallized, consisting of a dense network of
lustrous, translucent red crystals that range in size to approximately 1mm!!! Although the crystals are quite complex, upon close
inspection, one can see triangular faces as well as overall pyramidal habits!!! The pics don't come close to doing it justice!!! This retains an old label from Forrest Cureton as well!!!
This is rare, older material from Broken Hill!!! Of course the crystals exhibit red fluorescence under SW UV as well!!! This specimen is the
last of a trio of specimens we were lucky enough to acquire - don't miss out!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED THIS WEEK, ALL ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 30th!!!
