Native Mercury with Cinnabar & minor Pyrite Socrates Mine, Sonoma Co., California 5.25cm x 4.2cm x 2cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of native mercury from this seldom referenced locale!!! This specimen consists of a very rich mass of native mercury ore!!! The matrix consists of weathered calomel, calcite, and some quartz that hosts a very rich distribution of bright silvery native mercury!!! There are also a few small cubic pyrite crystals, reddish cinnabar present as well!!! This specimen is very bright and lively in person - the pictures simply do not capture just how rich this specimen is!!! Fine examples of native mercury are quite scarce!!!
