Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of apophyllite and mesolite after natrolite from this seldom referenced South African locality!!! This specimen consists of a
cluster of sharp, glassy, colorless crystals of apophyllite that host a significant showing of mesolite pseudomorphs after natrolite!!! The
apophyllite crystals are sharp, glassy, and undamaged - in fact, they are in such fine condition that it was difficult to capture them in the pictures!!! The
mesolite pseudomorphs are well formed and have terminations that appear to still retain a thin layer of sharp natrolite upon close examination!!! This specimen
is really quite fantastic for the locality!!! These old Palabora zeolites are quite scarce indeed!!! This specimen is from the collection of A.J. Beres!!! The pics
hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
