Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent meteorite from this classic Arizona find!!! This specimen consists of a well formed, complete, iron-nickel meteorite that
weighs 134 grams!!! The specimen has handsome curvaceous features and is stable, smooth, and undamaged!!!
This specimen retains an old, affixed label from A.E. Foote that notes the specimen was collected in June, 1891!!! The
same affixed label also notes that "some pieces contain diamonds"!!! It is from this same material that
Foote first reported the presence of diamonds in the meteorites!!! Not only is this a handsome meteorite in and of itself,
it has terrific history and provenance as well!!! Classic material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen
PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to
come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was originally
from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 10th!!!
