Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare, old time example of mimetite from Tennessee!!! This old time rarity consists of a complex chert/quartz matrix that hosts a rich showing of
sharp, lustrous crystals of mimetite!!! The light, pale yellow
mimetite crystals consist of stout, hexagonal crystals that range in size up to 5mm!!! This would be a fantastic mimetite for any locality - but this is a truly amazing
specimen for TENNESSEE!!! The most prominent mimetite crystals - the are hosting the largest and showiest - are undamaged and complete!!! This specimen is actually in
fantastic condition considering its age and obscurity!!! In addition to the mimetite crystals,
there are a number of small, colorless fluorite crystals
scattered about as well!!! There are also tiny crystals of
brownish to greenish colored pyromorphite in association as well - present as both tiny prismatic
brownish crystals and greenish crust-like coatings!!!
What appear to be tiny red crystals microcrystals are actually heavily-included tiny red quartz crystals!!! This is a KILLER old time specimen - truly one of those "once-in-a-lifetime" specimen!!! There is a lot
more going on with this specimen than the pics show!!! You DO NOT want to miss out on this extraordinary opportunity!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS
