Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of mimetite from this seldom referenced, old time locality!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of
intensely colored yellow-orange mimetite in association with red minium and numerous tiny quartz points!!! The mimetite crystals
are present as translucent, botryoidal crystals that, upon close inspection with a scope or loupe, also show areas of
sharply defined and lustrous crystalline features in areas!!! The minium is present as deep red inclusions and crusts present
around the specimen!!! The quartz crystals are present as tiny, intergrown crystals scattered throughout the specimen and comprising
a portion of the matrix!!! Very lively and showy in person - it almost looks like a San Pedro mimetite, however it is from a MUCH rarer locality!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 10th!!!
