Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic example of GEM mimetite from the famed "Gem Pocket" at Tsumeb!!! Found in just one small pocket in 1971,
these rare and highly sought after "Gem Pocket" mimetite
specimens represent some of the finest examples of the species known!!! This specimen hosts a prominent 1.2cm crystal of
gem mimetite proudly perched on matrix in association with bright yellow beaverite and several other intergrown crystals of
mimetite!!! The main crystal is complete with glassy luster and characteristic gem clarity!!! The beaverite
is present as lively yellow microcrystalline crusts and masses scattered about the matrix as well as included within the
mimetite crystals as well!!! Classic material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
