Description/Interesting Notes: A rare old time example of molybdenite from New Jersey!!! This specimen hosts numerous broad areas of metallic molybdenite in and on a matrix of a dense, translucent to gemmy yellow-green matrix labelled as vermiculite!!! The matrix consists of tightly packed gemmy, somewhat irregular phlogopite-like crystals!!! There are also numerous tiny pyrite crystals scattered amongst them!!! Simply a fascinating rare old timer!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! This specimen is from the Albert Peppis Collection and retains his original label!!!
