Moncheite with Cooperite & Braggite Rustenburg Mine, Rustenburg District, Western Bushveld Complex, Northwest Province, South Africa 7.2cm x 4.26cm x 1.4cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of these rare platinum and palladium bearing species from this famous locality!!! This specimen consists of a pyroxene matrix that hosts numerous significant masses and grains of silvery metallic cooperite and braggite with moncheite inclusions!!! This is a very thick "slab" that has been polished on both sides and weighs nearly 100 grams (this specimen could easily be cut into more slices it is so thick!)!!! The pyroxene crystals have an almost moonstone-like schiller and the alternating angles of the intergrown crystals makes for a showy specimen in and of itself!!! This is a very rich specimen, hosting numerous significant masses of cooperite and braggite that are richly included with moncheite!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see pronounced differences in the metallic PGM species' hues!!! This specimen retains an old label from a respected rarities dealer as well!!!
