Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of this esteemed gem varietal of orthoclase from Mexico!!!
This specimen consists of a cluster of sharp orthoclase var. moonstone crystals punctuated by a
large, sharply twinned crystal at the center!!! The crystals have sharp faces with marked luster and gemmy
clarity!!! Although it is difficult to capture in the pictures, the crystals exhibit choice, dramatic
bluish white iridescence (labradorescence) within!!! The brilliant internal glow and flash is
quite striking in person - especially given the differently oriented crystals!!! This specimen displays
magnificently all around!!! These specimens are quite scarce and highly sought after!!! There are numerous small, black
crystals of an unidentified mineral in association as well!!! This specimen is from the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum as
well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
