"I am not certain if the example of orthoclase (adularia) shown here is a fully developed crystal, but it is an aesthetic specimen in my eyes. Found in Sri Lanka, it is a flat, four-sided specimen (3 x 2.5 x 2 cm) with the terminations on both ends showing a brilliant, silvery-sheen. The piece weighs 122.35-carats, so it has considerable value as gem rough. Perhaps that is why pieces like this are rare in the market – they never make it past the lapidaries. Ex-Ty Lawrence Collection."
