A classic example of almandine garnet in muscovite from North Carolina!!! This specimen consists of a thin section of muscovite that hosts several almandine
garnet crystals!!! The almandine crystals exhibit an extremely compressed habit as the result of having formed under pressure between planes of muscovite!!! These
crystals are highly lustrous, GEM clear, and have exceptional color!!! This specimen is UNBELIEVABLE in person!!! Simply an incredible example of this classic
occurence!!! Rarely does one see almandine crystals of such size and quality in these unusual specimens!!! The crystals are surprisingly thick and have convex faces - making them
appear like gemmy buttons and the largest one actually acts as a natural lens!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
