Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely incredible, old time example of this rare gold-bearing species from Colorado!!! Examples of nagyagite from Colorado are
EXTREMELY rare and this is an EXTRAORDINARY example of the species!!! This specimen hosts a rich, thick coverage of
grayish metallic nagyagite that nearly covers the specimen's broad face!!! The nagyagite is
present as thick, slightly foliated, platey crystals partially embedded in the matrix!!! Upon close inspection in person
one can see much more depth and crystalline features than the pics show!!! The matrix is characteristic of the region's
well known telluride deposits and hosts some tiny pyrite crystals randomely scattered throughout as well!!! This
specimen is from the collection of O. Ivan Lee (1888-1952) and retains his old affixed label in addition to
old Burminco labels as well!!! This is a very significant Colorado rarity indeed (this specimen had a previous price tag well into the four digits!!!)!!!
Truly a "once in a lifetime" specimen - don't miss out!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 17th!!!
