Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this rare species from Chile!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of whitish crystals of
nantokite in association with deep green crystals of atacamite!!! Nantokite is a rare and unstable
copper chloride that gradually alters to more stable copper species over time!!! At first glance, the nantokite
looks like little white balls and groups of white balls, however upon close examination, some vaguely pyramidal forms (albeit somewhat rounded) can
be discerned!!! As with most nantokite specimens, the outer surface is likey another species while the core remains nantokite!!!
This is a rich and impressive example indeed!!! This specimen is from the personal collection of Bob Jenkins and retains his
original collection label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 2nd!!!
