Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of rare natrochalcite from the type locality in Chile!!! This specimen consists of a dense vein of deep green crystalline natrochalcite in association with some dark green antlerite and
light blue leightonite!!! The natrochalcite comprises the great majority of the specimen and is present as a thick vein that runs through the entire specimen!!! There is a thin vein, a few millimeters thick, of
dark, slightly bluish green antlerite that runs through a small section of the natrochalcite!!! In person, this area of antlerite is much more distinct!!! There
is some light blue leightonite on some of the whitish matrix, however there is much more that is in close association with the natrochalcite as thin coatings on some edges, which gives the natrochalcite a unique hue!!!
Upon close inspection with a scope or loupe, one can find numerous submillimeter free-floating crystals of antlerite suspended in the natrochalcite and leightonite!!! This specimen
is simply incredible in person!!! Rare old time material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be
seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 12th!!!
