Nepheline with Sodalite Davis Hill Locality, Davis Hill, Dungannon Township, Bancroft District, Hastings Co., Ontario, Canada 15.2cm x 8cm x 6cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An exceptional example of nepheline crystals from Davis Hill!!! Nepheline is most often just considered a rock forming mineral and is rarely seen as crystals!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of very large crystals of nepheline!!! The crystals are well defined and have an attractive peach color with some very slight translucence in areas!!! Most notably however, the crystals show a terrific accent of lively blue sodalite!!! The matrix shows tiny bits of sodalite included within as well!!! This specimen came out of an older collection and was quite dirty at first - however after some cleaning I was shocked to see just how aesthetic it was!!!
