Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent, 19th century example of precious gem opal from Slovakia!!! This is the classic, historic locality for precious gem opal long before the modern finds in Australia!!! This specimen hosts a significant showing of incredibly fiery, rainbow colored precious opal on matrix!!! It is difficult to appreciate from the pictures, but this specimen has absolutely gorgeous rainbow-colored fire within!!! This historic opal from Slovakia is quite characteristic by comparison to more commonly seen precious opal from Australia!!! This specimen is way better than the pictures show - the fire is very lively and dynamic in person!!! These historic 19th century Slovak opal specimens are next to impossible to acquire and this is a very handsome specimen indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
