Description/Interesting Notes:
A very unique and showy example of precious black opal from this RARE locality!!! Let me start off by saying that it is very difficult
to capture such things in pictures - in person this specimen is AMAZING!!! This specimen is way, WAY better than the pics show!!! This
specimen is loaded with amazing, rainbow colored fire that is unlike anything I have seen in precious opal from any other locality!!! The
fire is much more dramatic, intense, and lively - the pictures capture just a tiny percentage of its actual fire!!! What makes this
specimen all the more interesting is that, upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see that this is actually a dense,
compact concretion of what appear to be opallized micro fossils!!! This is an AMAZING specimen in so many regards!!! RARE material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony
Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony
Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was originally from the collection of Florence Mecke
(acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
