Description/Interesting Notes: This is an AMAZING old time example of orpiment from Utah!!! This specimen consists of a large, complex, contiguous crystal of orpiment in association with a small amount of calcite!!! The specimen has stunning orange color with marked translucence and areas of glassy luster!!! Upon close inspection one can see that the specimen is actually quite well crystallized and there are some lustrous, sharply defined faces!!! This is OLD material and, for its age, it is in relatively good condition as well!!! These old time Utah orpiment specimens are quite scarce indeed!!! This specimen retains an old label from Martin Ehrmann as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
