A very rare example of pentagonite from the TYPE LOCALITY in Oregon!!! This specimen hosts a colorful display of pentagonite included heulandite crystals on a
matrix of calcite crystals!!! The pentagonite crystals actually originate within the heulandite crystals - coloring them an intense turquoise blue - and exit the
heulandite crystals in all directions!!! The pentagonite crystals essentially look like fine spikes jutting out from the brightly colored heulandite crystals!!!
This specimen is absolutely incredible in person and under close examination!!! This is a significant example of the species!!! This specimen was
given by renowned zeolite expert and author of "Zeolites of the World", Rudy Tschernich to collector and friend Ken Hogan not long after the species was discovered in 1973!!! This specimen
retains its original Hogan label and the note that accompanied it from Rudy Tschernich which described it as "one of the best"!!! These type-locality
pentagonite specimen are VERY rare and all but impossible to obtain!!! This is an incredible and significant example, with fantastic provenance as well!!!
