A magnificent example of petzite and native gold from Colorado!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of darkly colored
petzite with native gold!!! Nearly all of the darkly colored material on this specimen is petzite and there are numerous
significant areas of native gold in intimate association!!! While there is petzite finely disseminated throughout much of the specimen, there
is a significant vein of dense, solid petzite that runs through the entire specimen and hosts a rich showing of native gold intimated
associated throughout as well!!! In addition to the petzite and gold there is also a minor amount of galena in association as well!!!
Upon close inspection with a loupe or a scope one can see that there is a significant amount of native gold present as almost spongiform masses
that are intimately intergrown with the darkly colored petzite!!!
This is incredible, rich material!!! This specimen WAY better than the pictures
show!!! This specimen came from old material that came from the A.E. Seaman Museum - the material had not been catalogued but
was noted as coming from the German mineralogist B. Klose!!! Rare old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
