A magnificent example of petzite and native gold from Colorado!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of darkly colored petzite
with native gold!!! Nearly all of the darkly colored material on this specimen is petzite and there are numerous significant areas
of native gold in intimate association!!! There is an elongated vug that hosts sphalerite, galena, and quartz crystals in addition to
small masses of buttery yellow native gold and small CRYSTALS of petzite!!! Upon close examination with a loupe or a scope, one
can find several crystals of petzite including complex, somewhat rounded crystals and some exceptional, sharply formed crystals as well!!!
The other sides of the specimen hosts broad, dark areas that are comprised mostly of darkly colored massive petzite!!! One side of the
specimen hosts masses of petzite that are richly included with native gold on a layer of quartz!!! In person the richness of the associated
native gold is immediately apparent!!! That entire side of the specimen sparkles with golden flashes!!!
Upon close inspection with a loupe or a scope one can see that the darker colored areas in this same area are actually still
richly included with almost spongiform native gold intimately associated with the petzite!!! This is incredible, rich material!!! This specimen WAY better
than the pictures show!!! This specimen came from old material that came from the A.E. Seaman Museum - the material had not been
catalogued but was noted as coming from the German mineralogist B. Klose!!! Rare old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
