Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of petzite and native gold from Colorado!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of darkly colored petzite
with native gold!!! Nearly all of the darkly colored material on this specimen is petzite and there are numerous significant areas
of native gold in intimate association!!! The vein of gold-included petzite runs through the entire specimen!!! The
petzite is present both as fine, dense inclusions throughout the matrix as well as thick, significant veins and masses of solid
petzite!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can actually see some petzite with crystalline features!!! One can also see
that there is more native gold than it appears in the pictures!!! There are areas of petzite that are
intimately associated with what is almost spongiform native gold as well as the more conspicuous masses present throughout the petzite!!!
This is incredible, rich material!!! This specimen WAY better than the pictures
show!!! This specimen came from old material that came from the A.E. Seaman Museum - the material had not been catalogued
but was noted as coming from the German mineralogist B. Klose!!! Rare old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
