Description/Interesting Notes:
An extraordinary combination of rare gold and silver tellurides from this historic Colorado locale!!! This specimen is EXTREMELY rich, with
large masses of petzite & hessite and numerous crystals of sylvanite comprising a major portion of the specimen as a whole!!! While
it is difficult to tell from the pictures, in person the metallic luster of the species is much more prominent and dynamic - the specimen
is much richer than it appears in the pics even!!! The hessite and petzite are present as large masses, grains and veins richly distributed throughout the
specimen!!! The sylvanite is present as flat, elongated crystals with bright silver luster!!! While there are many crystals of
sylvanite present throughout the specimen, some have their broad silvery metallic faces prominently exposed on the surface!!! While
it is difficult to distinguish between the petzite and hessite in the pictures, it is a bit easier in person, with the petzite having a significantly
darker appearance!!! Additionally, there is a small natural fissure where there are some actually submillimeter crystals of petzite
present as well!!! Upon close inspection one can see that the matrix is characteristic Cripple Creek material!!! This is an exceptional specimen
for the locality and fine examples of petzite and hessite are quite scarce indeed!!! Rare, old time material!!!
