Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely INCREDIBLE example of petzite and native gold from Colorado!!! This specimen hosts an extremely rich showing of
darkly colored petzite intimately associated with native gold!!! Nearly all of the darkly colored material on this specimen is
petzite!!! The petzite likely represents the majority of the specimen by weight!!! There are numerous significant areas of
eye-visible native gold scattered all over the specimen as well (there is much more than the pics show!)!!!
This is incredible, rich material!!! Upon close study, there is a significant CRYSTAL of
petzite perched in a small vug in addition to a couple other complex, eye-visible crystals of petzite scattered about the
specimen!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see that there is actually quite a lot of
gold intimately associated with the petzite (we polished a smaller specimen of this same material and it literally comes alive with
brilliant grains of native gold)!!! This is an incredible example of the species!!!
This specimen WAY better than the pictures show!!!
This specimen came from old material that came from the A.E. Seaman Museum - the material
had not been catalogued but was noted as coming from the German mineralogist B. Klose!!! Rare old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
