Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely killer example of phenakite from Colorado!!! This old time beauty consists of a showy cluster of large, sharp, undamaged phenakite crystals in association with some whitish albite crystals!!! The phenakite crystals have marked translucence and bright, glassly luster!!! The crystals exhibit characteristic complex forms and are in fantastic condition!!! The crystals are undamaged all around and range in size up to 2cm!!! In person one can see that there is some slight bluish hue in some areas and, upon close inspection, one can see some bluish aquamarine in minor association and intergrown with the albite!!! It was difficult to capture this specimen in pictures, as it is a showy and dynamic beauty in person!!! This is a KILLER Colorado phenakite - specimens of this caliber are extremely scarce and highly sought after!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!!
