Description/Interesting Notes: An incredible, old time example of phosgenite from this classic locality!!! This specimen consists of a massive galena matrix that hosts an amazing, 3cm crystal of GEM phosgenite!!! The phosgenite crystal has brilliantly glassy luster and razor-sharp faces!!! The crystal has a gorgeous amber color and wonderfully gemmy clarity!!! In fact, this specimen could actually yeild a very significant faceted gemstone if so desired!!! Phosgenite specimens with such superb clarity and brilliant luster are exceptionally rare indeed!!! This is an old specimen and, although it has some minor damage, it is an exceptional specimen regardless and still displays magnificently as you can see!!! The dispersion and play of light within the crystal makes this specimen look like a brilliant light show even from across the room!!! This specimen spent some time in our display cabinet because it was so striking!!! This specimen retains an old German label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
