Description/Interesting Notes:
This is an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE example of this rare and sought after species from Sicily!!! This unique, old time specimen consists of a
striking showing of unusually "spikey" phosgenite crystals on a matrix of massive phosgenite with a colorful association of yellow and green
rare lead secondaries!!! The crystals are much more lustrous and gemmy than the pictures show!!! The crystals all show wonderful play of light within - with
dramatic flashes that highlight its rich smoky color!!! While one usually sees phosgenite crystals that have flattened terminations - upon close examination it can be seen that
many of the spikey forms have tiny flattened areas at their terminations!!! The matrix and some of the crystals host colorful associations of bright yellow
(possibly massicot) and lively green unidentified species!!! This specimen was quite difficult to capture with the camera, do to its complex habit, bright luster, and dark color - however it is
absolutely incredible in person!!! This specimen is in magnificent condition all around with no damage to speak of!!! This is a very significant specimen indeed - and valued
into the four digits!!! You do not want to miss out on this incredible - and unique, old time classic!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! This specimen
retains an old unattributed catalogue number affixed to the underside as well!!!
