Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific example of this prized "Holy Grail" mineral species from the type locality in Germany!!! The
great majority of phosphophyllite specimens from this locale consist of tiny, insignificant crystals - however
this specimen hosts a particularly large group of crystals with classic green color!!! This specimen
hosts a large, 2.3 cm contiguous group of intergrown crystals with individual crystals to over 1cm!!!
There are other clusters of smaller crystals scattered about the specimen as well!!! The
phosphophyllite crystals have bright glassy luster, sharp faces, and translucent to gemmy clarity!!!
There is also an area of dark, indigo-colored massive vivianite as well!!! Old material!!! Upon close
inspection one can see areas of characteristic twinning as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer and retains its original personal collection label!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer
and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 13th!!!
