Description/Interesting Notes: A rare and unusual example of crystalline native platinum with native gold from Russia!!! This specimen consists of interpenetrant cubic crystals of native platinum with epitaxial native gold on the crystal faces!!! In addition to the platinum and gold, there is an unidentified mineral present that appears as dense tangles of ribbon-like wires!!! Under close inspection with a scope or loupe, it appears possible that the "ribbons" were etched out of a cubic platinum crystal, as there is a small area where this appears to be the case!!! Not only is this a fantastic example of platinum and gold, there is some very interesting unidentified species in association!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
