Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this rare platinum bearing species from Alaska!!! This specimen consist of a complex, crystalline mass of
bright, silvery isoferroplatinum!!! This specimen was acquired in an old collection with a simple note that said
"Isoferroplatinum, Platinum/PGM crystal - one of the largest he collected"!!! Unfortunately the owner had
passed away and the name of this collector and further details are unknown!!! One thing is for certain however - this is one
exciting specimen that is begging for further analysis!!! It is quite clear from its crystallization (much more apparent in person under a loupe or
scope) that it is a characteristic PGM crystal and there are some curious additional crystals/grains embedded within it!!! For an
isoferroplatinum crystal - or any of the other rarer PGM species from this locality, this is a huge crystal!!! This specimen weighs 1g and
measures 7.3mm!!! Don't miss out on this rare find!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 14th!!!
