Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare and unusual example of native platinum from Oregon!!! This specimen consits of a serpentine and pyroxene matrix that hosts
numerous crystals of chromite included throughout as well as a significant showing of micro-grains of native platinum!!! The
specimen has been cut and polished on its broad face!!! Upon close inspection one can see numerous included crystals of
chromite that exhibit euhedral outlines with dark, slightly metallic luster!!! The grains of native platinum are submillimeter
and best appreciated with a scope or a loupe and have a much brighter metallic luster!!! This specimen has an old
handwritten label from Forrest Cureton as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
