Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of plumbogummite from the type locality!!! This specimen consists of a rich mass of tan colored
plumbogummite in association with a small amount of lightly colored, somewhat massive pyromorphite!!!
The plumbogummite shows characteristic botryoidal features with marked luster and slight translucence!!! There appear to be
different layers and hues of plumbogummite present as well!!!
Upon close inspection with a loupe or a scope there are some
interesting features to be seen including some areas of microcrystalline material and a few minute, translucent
crystals of pyromorphite!!! Old time
examples of plumbogummite from the type locality are quite rare on today's market!!! We
originally acquired this specimen in a parcel of 19th century material from the Sorbonne Museum in France!!! Rare, old time
material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
