Description/Interesting Notes:
An incredible example of polybasite after stephanite from Canada!!! This specimen consists of a highly complex, hoppered crystal of what
is presumed to be pyragyrite that has been completely replaced by fine, well formed polybasite crystals!!! What is even more
impressive is that the crystal shows marked iridescence in the hoppered areas (similar to the famed iridescent polybasites from the Husky Mine in Canada)!!!
The crystal is complete and undamaged all around!!! The individual crystalline features of the polybasite crystals are quite
well defined upon close inspection!!! This is a very unusual specimen since the great majority of polybasite pseudomorphs are comprised of
microcrystalline material, however this specimen is comprised entirely of significantly sized, intergrown, oriented plates of polybasite!!!
This is simply an amazing and unique specimen in so many regards!!! OLD material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 6th!!!
