Prehnite after Calcite with Apophyllite O & G Southbury Quarry, Southbury, New Haven Co., Connecticut 8.22cm x 5.3cm x 5.05cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of prehnite with apophyllite from Connecticut!!! This specimen consists of a large mass of translucent, botryoidal crystals that hosts numerous sharp, glassy, crystals of apophyllite!!! A significant portion of this specimen is actually a pseudomorphic cast after a large calcite crystal!!! Upon viewing the bottom of the specimen, one can see that there is a layer of yellow prehnite under the green prehnite as well!!! The apophyllite crystals are razor sharp, brilliantly lusrous, and range in clarity from translucent to gemmy!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
