Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare OLD, COLONIAL period example of prehnite from Connecticut!!! I am told this specimen dates to the late 1700's!!! This specimen
consists of a vug lined with colorless to tan prehnite crystals!!! The crystals are quite well formed, lustrous, and translucent!!! This specimen
retains an old label from the Underhill Collection (b.1809) and, even more exciting than that is the unusual affixed label!!! This old label is NOT
a stamp, but rather was hand drawn!!! The label notes that the specimen is Prehnite from Farmington and there appear to possibly be some initials (or
perhaps they further relate to locality info, as there does appear to a "C" as the first letter)!!! There is an image of a lion and some flag-topped towers perhaps -
we are currently researching the label and if we come up with anything we'll be sure to add a note onto the auction!!! In any case, this is no doubt a
very historic and unique old time Connecticut specimen indeed!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
