Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific old time example of prehnite from this seldom referenced French locality!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of
lustrous, translucent, blade-like crystals of prehnite on both sides of a quartz matrix!!! The prehnite crystals have a slightly greenish color
in areas, however it appears to be the result of minute chlorite inclusions!!! Upon close examination one can find compressed groups of tiny
hair-like crystals of byssolite in between some of the crystals as well!!! This specimen retains an old, 1940's era John Albanese label, as well as a
Hauck collection label!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
