Prehnite with Calcite and Laumontite Prospect Park Quarry (Sowerbutt Quarry), Prospect Park, Passaic Co., New Jersey 23cm x 12.6cm x 5.75cm Ex. Albert Peppis Collection No. A-32

Description/Interesting Notes: This specimen consists of a huge cluster of green prehnite crystals in association with calcite and minor laumontite!!! The prehnite crystals are MUCH GREENER IN PERSON!!! For some reason the digital camera cannot pick up the rich choice green color that this specimen exhibits!!! The crystals have terrific translucence, luster, and form!!! There are numerous small calcite crystals in association and there appear to be many areas where the prehnite has formed as casts after laumontite crystals!!! This specimen is a magnificent old time New Jersey display-piece that occupied a prominent position in Peppis' main display cabinet!!! This classic beuty was so large that it was difficult to capture in the pictures - it is simply stunning in person!!! This specimen is from the Albert Peppis Collection and retains his original label!!!
