Description/Interesting Notes:
An old time example of ruby red proustite from this classic locality!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of bright, intense ruby
red proustite in association with some quartz matrix!!! There are significant masses and veins of particularly intense, bright ruby
red proustite in addition to a few scattered crystals with sharp, brilliant faces and gemmy clarity!!!
The color and richness of this old time proustite is quite striking in person!!!
This specimen came from old material that came from the A.E. Seaman
Museum - the material had not been catalogued but was noted as coming from the German mineralogist B. Klose!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
