Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of proustite with safflorite after native silver from Germany!!! This specimen is a highly complex combination of
species from this famed district!!! The specimen consists of a dense group of intergrown dendritic crystals of native silver that have been
completely replaced by safflorite (and
related species) that serves as a matrix for numerous complex crystals of ruby red proustite as well as a
few scattered crystals of argentopyrite!!! Upon close inspection this specimen is simply incredible!!! There
are other species in minor association as well (galena, pyrite, dolomite), and there even appears to be a curious native arsenic pseudomorph (?) that
occupies a rhombohedral-shaped cavity in the dolomite matrix (or it is some kind of pseudomorph)!!! There is a LOT going on with this specimen - truly amazing under close inspection!!!
The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 10th!!!
